Moon Knight essential reading
To prepare for the new MCU series, thought I'd share some essential reading (from my personal collection.)
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
Werewolf by night #32: In the middle of a seedy alley, the Werewolf battles a mysterious costumed figure known as Moon Knight. Armed with silver weapons, the Moon Knight attacks the werewolf as a crowd begins to draw. He slings three crescent-shaped throwing darts into the werewolf's chest, and punches him with a solid silver cestus.
Moon Knight (vol1) #1: Before he was the macabre Moon Knight, he was mercenary Marc Spector. Witness the origin of the hero known as Moon Knight! Cloaked in the spirit of the Egyptian moon god, Moon Knight swears vengeance on “Bushman”, the mercenary who takes innocent lives and leaves his colleagues for dead.
-------------------------------------------------------
Moon Knight (vol2) #1: Marc Spector aka Moon Knight has used his vast fortune to establish the Spector International Art Gallery. One of the premier pieces on display at his auction is none other than the statue of Khonshu – the Egyptian God of the moon.
Marc Spector: Moon Knight #1: Mark Spector returns to his old mansion in New York City to pick up where he left off. The Bushman (General Bushman) tracks him down and kidnaps his old love interest, Marlene Alraune.
-------------------------------------------------------
Punisher Annual #2: Chapter V of the "Atlantis Attacks" crossover saga. Viper's conspiracy threatens to turn drug addicts into mind-controlled soldiers, and the Punisher is next on her list of victims! The Punisher is transformed into a drug-maddened berserker and Moon Knight is his first victim.
Marc Specter: Moon Knight #50: Moon Knight works out by sparring against virtual simulations of his recent enemies, including Dr. Doom and Tombstone, but ends the session when it manifests an image of his mad brother Randall.
Epilogue: Later, in the offices of his Phalkoncorp Building, Seth hears the report of the Hellbent's failure from team leader Murmur. Seth orders Agony to kill Murmur. He then leaves to greet his new liason, Marlene Alraune.
Prologue: The newly-restored Spector Mansion has an uninvited visitor: the one-time thief Gambit, who himself is surprised by another intruder, the Werewolf.

Moon Knight (vol1) #188: A new day is dawning and with it comes an enemy unlike any that Marc Spector, Moon Knight, has ever faced. Moon Knight has always been a protector from the shadows, but this new enemy is looking to extinguish that shadow with blinding light and fire.
Avengers (legacy) #736: Khonshu the Egyptian Moon God wants to prevent a future ruled by Mephisto. He sent his Fist Moon Knight to get Thor's hammer Mjolnir and the powers of Dr Strange, Ghost Rider and Iron Fist. Khonshu has Black Panther captive and has been trying to take *his* power. Then all he needs to complete the set of powers of the 1M BC Avengers is the Starbrand and the Phoenix power.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Moon Knight (2021) #1-6: I AM MOON KNIGHT! The mysterious Mr. Knight has opened his Midnight Mission, his people petitioning for protection from the weird and horrible. The Moon Knight stalks the rooftops and alleys marked with his crescent moon tag, bringing violence to any who would harm his people. Marc Spector, in whichever guise he dons, is back on the streets, a renegade priest of an unworthy god. But while Khonshu languishes in a prison that Moon Knight put him in, Moon Knight must still observe his duty: protecting those who travel at night. Let it be known – Moon Knight will keep the faith.

Amazing Spider-Man (vol1) #353-358: When Moon Knight's former sidekick, Midnight, "returns from the dead" as a cyborg he begins to target his former partner with the might of the Secret Empire at his side. But Moon Knight has friends too and with the help of Spider-Man The Punisher, and New Warriors members Night Thrasher, Nova, and Darkhawk, takes on his former ally and the Secret Empire.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Web of Spider-Man (vol1) #93-94: Jason Macendale, the current Hobgoblin, running through a training exercise set up by the Foreigner. Macendale is testing that he's back in shape after having been separated from the Demogoblin. But (and this was probably the Foreigner's plan all along) Macendale is too vigorous during the exercise and he winds up killing several of the Foreigner's men. This puts Macendale in the Foreigner's debt, so he has to pay his way out by doing two contract jobs. They are both assassination jobs: one target is Moon Knight and the other is Nick Katzenberg.

ArachKnight (Secret Warps) Annual #1: The web-spinning Arachknight finds himself out of his depth with all four of his personas in this week’s all-new SECRET WARPS: ARACHKNIGHT ANNUAL #1 by Al Ewing and Jim Zub. What will happen as his own warped universe begins colliding with another? Let’s swing into the issue and find out!
