The Flash
The Flash is an upcoming American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, to air on The CW. It will be based on the DC Comics character Flash (Barry Allen), a costumed superhero crime-fighter who was created by Robert Kanigher, John Broome and Carmine Infantino. It is a spin-off to Arrow, existing in the same universe. The pilot for the series was written by Berlanti, Kreisberg and Johns, and directed by David Nutter. The series was officially picked up on May 8, 2014
I managed to sneak a copy of the pilot and I must say, I really like how this one turned out.
From the previews that they've been running this week, the pilot that airs next Tuesday 10/8 will be an extended version w/sneak peaks at the up coming season.
cant wait.

Re: The Flash
Season 9 of CW's The Flash premiered this past Wednesday ( 2/8 ). As in typical 'Flash' series style, the Febuary premier kicked off with a groundhog day episode.
When story starts off, we see our heroes taking on Tarpit and easily winning, however the victory is short lived as one by one the heroes stop, turn to Barry, say something cryptic and with a red flash of lightning in their eyes and fall dead.
Barry wakes from his dream and turns to right to see Iris sleeping safe and sound. Barry pulls a book from his nightstand, flips through it and goes back to sleep. The book is Barry's "Map Book" that he uses to plot out future events.
The overall conflict in dealing with the time loop is that it forces Barry to fall back on that old standby of a character arc. He's obsessed with keeping Iris and those he loves safe, which winds up causing a problem he can only solve by embracing love (remember Barry is the Paragon of Love)
This introduces us to Earth Prime's Captain Boomerang but more importantly teased two new characters: Livewire and Red Death.
Livewire appears only for a moment at the end of the episode when Barry arrives at Caitlin's apartment, after receiving an urgent message to "race" over. Our introduction to Livewire is that she's neither Caitlin or 'Frost' .. but who is she (ask's Flash).
Fans of Livewire from the comic books may be going, Livewire is not Caitlin Snow, and you're right. This is totally a guess on my part based on history of the show. When we last saw Caitlin, her and Chillblaine were attempting to recreate 'Frost in Caitlin in a secret laboratory in Caitlin's apartment. Other rumors around the 'net say this is Cobalt Blue.
The show has historically blended characters together, Deathstorm and Savitar are two examples of this. That bring us to Red Death.
Red Death was first teased back in Season 5’s “Memorabilia,” in a scene where Barry travels to the future and finds a reference to the villain included among the items at the Flash Museum.
The 'Arrowverse''s Batman is Batwoman. The teaser at the end of the episode, "Wednesday ever after", was Red Death's bat symbol, which has the same lightning aura effects around it as the boomerangs that Captain Boomerang uses during is encounter with the Flash and is given at the end episode by this season's "big bad". With confirmation that 'Arrow' will return as Oliver Queen, not The Specter, this guess seems pretty solid (that and Batwoman's Jevica Leslie posted a pic of her in 'Red Death' armor on Instagram). CW Red Death is a version of Batwoman who has harnessed the power of the Speed Force.
Only 13 episodes in this final season and I'm hearing we shouldn't get to invested in Livewire/Cobalt Blue..
The Flash season 9 episodes will be dropping on The CW at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET every Wednesday. You can watch new episodes for free via The CW app on your phone or streaming device the day after they air.

Who Is the Red Death?
The DC multiverse is comprised of many parallel worlds all vibrating together, but there’s even more to it than that. In the comics, there’s actually an entirely separate branch of reality known as the Dark Multiverse. In this realm, worlds are forged from the nightmares of heroes like Batman and Superman. At a forge called the Orrery of Worlds, their worst fears become flesh and blood.
That’s where the Red Death was born (at least as far as his comics origin goes). This villain is a version of Batman who was driven mad by the loss of so many Robins. This Batman becomes obsessed with the idea of harnessing Flash’s speed to ensure he’s always fast enough to save his children. Batman lashes Flash to the hood of his Batmobile and drives into the Speed Force, which causes both men to merge into one bloodthirsty speedster.
Despite this upgrade, the Red Death isn’t quick enough to save his world from destruction (the chaotic worlds of the Dark Multiverse rarely maintain cohesion for long). But soon after, the Red Death is recruited by the Batman Who Laughs to serve their master, the demonic Barbatos, and help him drag all of existence into the Dark Multiverse
