Wolverine And The X-Men
anyone else seen this yet? i'm not sure if its airing in the states yet, but its gonna air there on nickelodeon if i recall, i been snagging it off torrents because YTV in Canada been airing it..
its pretty interesting, set in the future where jean and Professor X are missing and mutants are being hunted down and locked way, Magneto rules Genoshia and offers it as a haven to mutants, and Wolverine and Beast need to rebuild the X-Men.
Its pretty good, its kind of a mix of whats going on in the 616 and ultimate universes and the movies, and amazingly they aren't altering Emma Frost's costume at all for television, which kind of surprised me. I guess they're gonna have a huge cast, confirmed for season 1; The Brotherhood, The Acolytes, The Marauders, Weapon X, The Hulk, and afew others, episode one has cameos by Dust, Boom Boom, Rockslide, and (a correctly done for once) Pyro. I guess the show is gonna share universe with the upcoming Iron man and Hulk cartoons that Nickelodeon is getting, as well as the upcoming Black Panther series that BET is gonna have.

Re: Wolverine And The X-Men
Nick or Nicktoons or whatever will have Wolverine and the Xmen, and the new Iron Man cartoon, and the new Hulk one, which all fit in the same universe, and yeah to my knowledge Black Panther is gonna be on BET and take a completely more dramatic and serious tone, and better artwork. Its airing in Canada on YTV right now, and i been torrenting it like crazy, 8 episodes in, at the moment.
the show isn't so bad, it seems to do what alot of the other animated x-series hasn't been able to do, and thats get most of its characters right, or completely re-invent them. Like, Emma Frost is british now, and is still wearing her "fanboy friendly" modern outfit and body, not the whole suit jacket and covered up thing from that Generation X movie in the 90s that sucked so bad, and she's very strong willed like the comics, but none of that "gonna take Scott from Jean" bullshit. They also finally got Nightcrawler right, and with the right accent too, normally they'd just take one part of his personality and make it work, but they got Kurt dead on, Magma too, and alot of others. Even Forge is interesting in this one... Completely worth watching, if not, take a look at the wiki, you'll see how huge the list of characters is gonna be.

I love the art style! I also love how they're seeming to stay in the ultimates timeline with the black Fury and all that. Plus they make Mags out to be such a bad ass, its pretty cool, once it hits the states you gotta get all up on it, its like what could have been if Evolution didn't get canceled for no reason.

Yeah, it really is a good show, we finally had time to sit down and watch the newest episode, Timebomb, where they have Nitro, and for once, they made Nitro interesting, instead of being all "ooo i go boom" they actually felt kind of sorry for him. I possitivly LOVED psylocke in this.. thery didn't go right to the psyknife version, they started out with the psybutterflies and stuff, it was pretty good, like how they're showing Rogue's character coming along rather good too.

Re: Wolverine And The X-Men
well they canceled the show, claiming IronMan the animated series, The Black Panther, and afew other upcoming marvel projects that are "under wraps" *cough*civil war*cough* are too much for their budget to handle, and feel that Wolverine and The X-Men just isn't going to fit in their budget.
shame really, because the show was so good. It was a well written show that was miles ahead of both X-Men Evolution and that horrible trash that was the 1990s X-Men series. Plus, they properly wrote so many of the cast, Cyclops was a dick, Emma was a whore, The Cookoos were completely creepy, Sebastian Shaw was an evil evil man, Nightcrawler was spot on, Sinister was just made of evil.. Its just crazy good... but I guess it wasn't good enough
but on the upside, if they make more, The Black Panther will be good, I saw the first six, and though its animated sort of like the 1966 Marvel Superheroes series, its beautiful in that respect, even if they do kind of make T'Challa seem like Batman. its really good, plus, they actually worked "I'm the juggernaught bitch." into it, as well as made The Black Knight bat shit crazy... for the lord. its kind of fun, but, i don't think its enough to take budget away from Wolverine and the X-Men...

Re: Wolverine And The X-Men
Mr Sinster has to be my all time fave marvel villian.
i always felt that the orig 90's animated xmen really bastardized the character.. i know the whole series was just crap but .. i dunno .. i took personal offense to what they did to sinster.
i saw wolverine and the xmen s1 on dvd at one of my local wal-mals .. thinking about getting it.
now is the new black panther and iron man going to be done similar to the ultimate avengers and iron animated movies done by lions gate ?
ps-
the Dr Strange animated movie by them was about the best "toon" version of d strange i had ever seen.

well the iron man series is kinda cell shaded and kind of boringly bad, and Black Panther is animated like its a moving comic book. As far as I know, the stuff done like Planet Hulk and Doctor Strange are gonna all be storylines now.
and you should get ahold of Wolverine and The X-Men, you'll love it..

the end will be both awesome and punching you in the crotch area, you'll be all "oh yay that ending was GREAT" but then when they set up for what would have been season two (Age Of Apocolipse) you'll get REALLY pissed off they decided to not make a second season.

Re: Wolverine And The X-Men
Well with He-Man, if you do your research you'll find that Mattel has a history of kicking the fans in the crotch in general. Infact they did it just recently with one of the He-Man Classics figures or whatever that limited edition line they only make a certain amount of and get pissed if the figure don't sell out in less then a minute. I guess they put the shoulders on wrong, and when they got called on this went "oops, my bad, we're not fixing it, deal with it" or something...
but with marvel it is kind of a let down, they aren't making more of this one, or the black panther, both series I loved...

ok... just finished the series.
i still call foul.
ok i kno i sound like a whiney fan bitch but i am sooooo tired of the pheonix force being this surpressed power inside jean. i kno i kno, its not ever gonna ever happen like it did in the comics, but i can have my standards.
i can live with the fact that they butchard the creation of archangel but it was sorta not kinda really close and bishop well that wasnt at all the same and seriously lorna, eriks daugher
.. but i can deal
the ending was more of a let down than anything, seriously.. other than just looking sexy. really.. emma
i think i tolerated her presence just for the sheer fact i was more drawn to her figure hehe literally than i was to her as a character. but in general i was just disappointed with the whole hellfire club, what a waste of animation space... and the reavers ... jeezze i could just go on.. mojo, spiral sorta close, but where was longshot...
but it would have been nice to see a sorta realistic representation of the age of apocalypse
i still call foul.

Re: Wolverine And The X-Men
Emma had lines? I thought she, like all the other women in the cast were just giant boobs put into a scene to fill screen space... lol
I both liked the ending, but was pissed it was an ending, i felt they could have cranked out two more episodes to make it more flushed out. I don't mind the cannibalizing Phoenix Endsong/Warsong and afew other things and mashing them together so much because I knew they'd do the one thing with the phoenix and be done with it. I was more interested in The Future X-Men aspect anyway then The Phoenix. I know I say it constantly, Jean Grey is why I love redheads and Phoenix was the story that got me to read comics as a wee person, but its been done so many times, and the ball gets dropped abit each time, so I'd been tolerant I guess... lol
and I think Lorna really is Magneto's daughter... I know they keep hinting at it, i'm not sure if they really said for sure or not..
