I like(d) Legend of the Green Dragon ( LoGD ) much better for it's updated format and more thing's to do.
The tips and hints on playing Legend of the Green Dragon that appear on this page are not inclusive nor ALL that is to be learned but rather a bit more information of the game so you may be a better player and enjoy this online game much more.
There is much more to learn about LoGD - so do some exploring and read the FAQ.

LotGD: Dragon Machines
Various Class/Race available in Dragon Machine:
-------------------------------------------------
Toki
On the rolling hills surrounding the city of Under Hill, your race of Toki farmed the hills for cloves. Your long jumps allow you to visit places and jump to heights that larger races can only dream of.
Felyne
On the plains surrounding the city of Romar, the city of men, your race of Felynes, or cat-people in the tongue of the city men, travelled behind the great herds for generations. Your nimble agility allows you to visit places that larger races can only dream of.
Dwarfs
Deep in the subterranean strongholds of Qexelcrag, home to the noble and fierce Dwarven people whose desire for privacy and treasure bears no resemblance to their tiny stature.
Elf
High among the trees of the Glorfindal forest, in frail looking elaborate Elvish structures that look as though they might collapse under the slightest strain, yet have existed for centuries.
Half-Elf
Below the trees of the Elven the city of Glorfindal, your race of Half-Elves have been the servants of the Eleves. Your dual heritage of Elven and Human gives you some advantages of each race.
Equine
On the open grasslands of Breyar, the gathering of equines; you were always praised for being one of the fastest of the herd and because of this, you were entrusted with many important tasks and even awarded the oppurtunity for trade, being so swift.
Human
On the plains in the city of Romar, the city of men; always following your father and looking up to his every move, until he sought out the Green Dragon, never to be seen again.
Lupine
In the Ancestral Encampment of Thundarulf, the home of Lupines; you were brought up to respect the land and your ancestors and in doing so, you learned many secrets from both than the other races could not hope to know.
Troll
In the swamps of Glukmoore as a Troll, fending for yourself from the very moment you crept out of your leathery egg, slaying your yet unhatched siblings, and feasting on their bones.

Re: LotGD: Dragon Machine
At the begining of the game, you start off as a:
Farmboy / Farmgirl - You are at the lowest level and NEED the most help in order to slay the Green Dragon in order to advance to become a bit stonger and much wiser Player at the next level: Page
As a Farmboy / Farmgirl:
- Remember you are at the lowest, most vulnerable and weakest level of any Player!
- At each Player Status / Rank; Farmboy/Farmgirl, Page, Squire, Gladiator etc . . You must play through 15 levels, during these levels of Play you are building up your Experience, Weapons and Armor in order to be strong enough to confront the Green Dragon
- At level 15 of every Player level, you will be able to Find and confront the Green Dragon - should you slay the Green Dragon, you will then be advanced to the next Player Status / Rank: Farmboy/Farmgirl ADVANCES to become a PAGE. A Page who defeats the Green Dragon will be advanced to Squire and so on ..
- Yes - You must play through 15 levels for each Status / Rank you hold.
- Why? - Listen to what the Green Dragon has to say after you slay it - The Green Dragon explains why!
- Healers Hut - This is found in the Forest and is a good idea to visit it to stay at full health.
- Outhouse - Also located in the Forest - visit it once per day and don't forget to wash your hands.
- The Inn - Many thing to do here - explore the Inn once you get inside.
- Do not waste any gems you receive on any boosts from the Barkeep Cedrick at this point in the game. Gems come to you very slowly and therefore should not be wasted on items that you will gain only a TEMPORARY boost from.
- Visit Ye Olde Bank frequently to deposit any gold you have earned - you worked so hard to earn your gold - it would be a pity to lose all your hard earned gold if you are defeated in combat.
- Ye Olde Bank will pay you Interest on your deposits on a daily basis - leave ALL your earning's from the last 5 - 10 Forest Fights in the Bank - do not upgrade your Weapons or Armor at this point in the day. As a Farmboy / Farmgirl your gold is very difficult to earn so make the best of it by allowing Ye Olde Bank to assist you in gaining more gold via the Interest payments that are paid on a daily basis. Withdraw your gold the following day and upgrade your Weapons or Armor.
- Do give a gem to the FAIRY when she asks for a gem - she will always make it worth your while if you do.
- Do save your gems in order to purchase a STALLION (16 gems) nothing less, from the STABLES.
- A Stallion will boost your ATTACK points because he will fight along side you for about the first 60 rounds of battle of each new day - he also will join with you each new day to do battle for as long as you keep him. Selling the Stallion back to the Stable is not a wise desicion. The Stallion is a worthy partner to have when you confront the Green Dragon!
- As a Farmboy / Farmgirl - you are NOT strong enough to go Thrillseeking, seek Something to Kill instead - it will be in your best interest at this level to not tangle with those demons that are much stronger than you.
- When you do go Thrillseeking - you will be confronted with demons, monsters and creatures of the Forest, that are very much stronger than you in BOTH attack and defend points - as a Farmboy / Farmgirl you do not stand much of a chance.
- Try to keep your ATTACK and Defend point almost even - a slight increase in ATTACK points over DEFEND points should keep you at a level that will defeat most creatures you come across.
- As a Farmboy / Farmgirl remember you are at the lowest, weakest and most vulnerable level - Seeking to fight with other players at this point in the game will most likely end in your Death, you will also lose all Gold you have on hand and experience points, and your turns for the day will end. If you do attack another player - attack those on lower levels than you.
- Farmboys / Farmgirls be advised that Player verses Player (PVP) battle IS part of the game and YOU are sought after due to you are the most weakest, most vulnerable player - ALL others will feast on your remains - get used to it. The Forest is cluttered with the remains of many a Farmboy/Farmgirl who choose to wimper, whine and cowardly run away from the challange of becoming a worthy opponent. There are a few brave souls who weathered the beating's to become grand champions and well experienced Green Dragon Killers - are you such a player? or will we find your remains as well?
- Going to the Inn and slaying those players sleeping there is possible BUT it is HIGHLY FROWNED upon - IF you want to make enemies and choose to be unpopular for your unsavory ways - then it is your choice - there are rotten apples in every basket. You are better off making a few friends - that can help you when you need it most.
- You can start a NEW DAY when you run out of Forest Fights by clicking on the New Day link in the Village.
- Most servers do not have the NEW DAY link, Maddrio LoGD does have the NEW DAY link, you can play Legend of the Green Dragon for as long as you want to.
- You did visit Ye Ole Bank and deposit all your gold before starting a New Day - right?
- Fighting your Master - As a Farmboy / Farmgirl, AGAIN remember you are at the LOWEST level, do NOT confront your Master by Challenging him in the Training Camp!, keep playing until HE confront's YOU! By the time he does - you should be well experienced and have enough ATTACK and DEFEND points from upgrades to your Weapons and Armor that you should be able to defeat your Master every time.
- Walk an Old Man to Town event is one that will result in Good things for you every time you do, you will lose a Forest Fight in the process but I believe what you gain is worth it.
- Mining for Gold and Gems: You are taking a chance here but the rewards outwiegh the losses - in most cases you will be rewarded with Gold, Gems or Gold and Gems. The possible losses are: Lose of a Forest Fight or Death and loss of all your Gems - this is a tough call and yours to make. I will not Mine for Gold and Gems if I am beyond level 10.
- Slumming is good if you do not have enough strength or defensive skills to Kill Something - By Slumming, you will encounter Demons and Creatures of the Forest you have encountered before and easily kill - you will not gain very much Gold or Experience with every Forest Fight BUT Slumming IS a very safe way to go if you need to build up your Gold in order in purchase better weapons or armor.
- Purchasing an Ale from the Barkeep Cedrik at the Inn will give a Temporary boost in Attack points, an effect which costs you 10 gold for each level your at and the Attack points last only for 10 rounds of battle. As a lowly FarmBoy / FarmGirl your Gold is put to better use if you upgrade your Weapons or Armor.
- Gems are found while you travel through the Forest and other places - explore, you'll find them - a few, not a lot.
- Giving the Barkeep Cedrik Gems is not wise as a Farmboy / Farmgirl - Save your Gems to purchase a Stallion, after you have a Stallion, then and only then - DO give Cedrik 2 Gems for VITALITY. This will increase your hitpoints by one and this upgrade is permanent and you will not lose it - you keep all upgrades for VITALITY forever! Have you ever wondered how another player can have so many hitpoints?
- If you are feeling your oats and think you can beat others players, make sure that they are lower than you - as a Farmboy / Farmgirl YOU are the lowest - weakest and most vulnerable player. As such you are *fresh meat* to ALL the other Players who have been playing for much longer than you and have advanced many levels. Many of which are lurking around waiting for you to log off.
- Do NOT log in more than once per day, doing so will expose you to more attacks from other players.
- You can view any players BIO by going through the list of players.
- Remember to put ALL your Gold in Ye Old Bank before you log off.
- By the time you reach level 11 as a Farmboy / Farmgirl your Attack and Defend points should be at least 25 if not more.
- When you reach level 15 your Attack and Defend points should NOT be less than 30.
- If you reach level 15 and have less than 50,000 Experience Points - your battle with the Green Dragon will be VERY difficult - continue killing and thrillseeking until you earn enough Experience Points. The more experience you gain the easier the task of slaying the Green Dragon becomes. You should have a Stallion by now or did you waste your Gems on other stuff that will not help you slay the Green Dragon?

Re: LotGD: Dragon Machine
After reaching lev15 (and defeating the dragon - the 1st time)
Victory!
Before you, the great dragon lies immobile, its heavy breathing like acid to your lungs. You are covered, head to toe, with the foul creature's thick black blood. The great beast begins to move its mouth. You spring back, angry at yourself for having been fooled by its ploy of death, and watch for its huge tail to come sweeping your way. But it does not. Instead the dragon begins to speak.
"Why have you come here mortal? What have I done to you?" it says with obvious effort. "Always my kind are sought out to be destroyed. Why? Because of stories from distant lands that tell of dragons preying on the weak? I tell you that these stories come only from misunderstanding of us, and not because we devour your children." The beast pauses, breathing heavily before continuing, "I will tell you a secret. Behind me now are my eggs. They will hatch, and the young will battle each other. Only one will survive, but she will be the strongest. She will quickly grow, and be as powerful as me." Breath comes shorter and shallower for the great beast.
"Why do you tell me this? Don't you know that I will destroy your eggs?" you ask.
"No, you will not, for I know of one more secret that you do not."
"Pray tell oh mighty beast!"
The great beast pauses, gathering the last of its energy. "Your kind cannot tolerate the blood of my kind. Even if you survive, you will be a feeble creature, barely able to hold a weapon, your mind blank of all that you have learned. No, you are no threat to my children, for you are already dead!"
Realizing that already the edges of your vision are a little dim, you flee from the cave, bound to reach the healer's hut before it is too late. Somewhere along the way you lose your weapon, and finally you trip on a stone in a shallow stream, sight now limited to only a small circle that seems to float around your head. As you lay, staring up through the trees, you think that nearby you can hear the sounds of the village. Your final thought is that although you defeated the dragon, you reflect on the irony that it defeated you.
As your vision winks out, far away in the dragon's lair, an egg shuffles to its side, and a small crack appears in its thick leathery skin.
You wake up in the midst of some trees. Nearby you hear the sounds of a village. Dimly you remember that you are a new warrior, and something of a dangerous Green Dragon that is plaguing the area. You decide you would like to earn a name for yourself by perhaps some day confronting this vile creature.
Since you have discarded your weapons and armor, you have lost the re-forges and your Melagos account has been renewed.
You are now known as Page ...
