Re: Thundercats - Ho!
Yeah its odd, they were beautiful toys that looked alot like the show, I remember the only place you could really find them here, were two local chain toy stores Child World, and a sort of Sam's Club of toystores called Toy Balloon, and a place called Mr. Big's Toyland, which as anyone thats need my writing on it knows was probably the creator of the modern collector/import toyshop.
It was sad because the show was pretty big news, and like, you'd expect the toys woulda been too. I know I had the sword, but I remember picking it up at a yard sale in my teens, I know I have Snarf, Panthro and Lion-O from the original run, the rest I do not believe I could find, we had more Silverhawks and tigersharks here, I have more of those, though ofcourse Transformers and G.I Joe were still the kings here, we hardly had any He-Man too..

Well you know, Megatron needed those turtles out of the way, else they epicly team up with the autobots, and dine on lazerbeak soup.
and I admit it, years ago, I bought someone's entire Jem collection, all the dolls, both in and out of the box, and all the outfits and stuff, back when they were under 100 dollars a doll.... I ain't ashamed.

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
really? they're breaking it up into two dvd sets? they've only got two episodes left in the season from what i understand, and they're airing them from this friday on... I have to admit, its WAY better then I expected it to be, and with the cameos by the Tigersharks and MonStar it just put it so far over the top. My only real complaint about the relaunch really doesn't have to do with the show, so much as it does the toylines. Its idiotic that they're gonna make toys to the original scale, but you can't get anything for them, all the playsets and stuff are for the smaller line. Now yeah I get their logic, no one can really afford what a thundertank sized for the old figures would cost these days, but still, it just seems needless to put out two lines of the same thing, and lopside it like that.

I was actually excited about them too, first they have real names, not just Jackleman and Monkeyman, I always felt those lazy and not even trying, and they have actual personalities too! I love the new thundertank too, but still hate the Burbles.

i also love the fact that they're not stupid..

also loving the "remake" of the Trials of Lion o
much better than the original.

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
I don't really remember the first time around with the Trials of Lion-O, but I'm betting it was more Jagga and dead thundercats telling Lion-O not to be a kid crap... lol
And yeah so far I agree, the generals not being stupid is key and important, they're not just generic redshirts given basic names and personalities just so they can sell a toy, I wonder how Vultureman's gonna come into play too.....

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
you just googled half of those didn't you? lol Even I don't remember that many thundercats characters.. lol
I don't think we'll get the second group of Cats though, they showed Lynx-O, Ben Gali and Pumira in the pilot and they got blowned up in a tower strike.

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
If you watch the pilot, Lynx-o and his sidekicks are the watch tower that gets blown up first, you see them, Lynx-O does that blind cat samurai thing, and they get blasted to the depths of hell.
I gotta admit, The Lunatiks are top of my list, but also, i'm excited that sense we've already seen cameos by The Tigersharks and MonStar from the Silverhawks, that means both of those casts live in this universe, which means team up!!!

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
I rather liked that they re-introduced her, and that she was all "Piss off Lion-O I give no fucks for you and your leaving us behind!" I liked how they implied there were more cats, which means the others might still be alive too, it kind of makes sense really, all these places they travel too, and not one creature they meet has been amazed to meet them as if they really were the last of the thundercats, they'd all said they knew of what happened to their people, but not that they were the last of them, so it makes alot of sense. Loved they put Mount Plundar into the show too, I wondered if they were gonna with Mum Ra having a whole new place to live.
