My bro was into them as a kid, he also has a real metal fan made replica of the sword of omens. Not 1005 accurate but you can tell what it is.

Well if they didn't want boys (and girls!) to think things like that they shouldn't have drawn her like a hawttybot or made her a Headmaster, I mean that joke there writes itself.

One thing I didn't understand, was Lion-O's suspension capsule faulty? He aged, but Willy Kit and Kat didn't.

im siding with Symos on this one
i kno in the 1st eps they play it off as if the sword made him grow up
but i really think that Lion-O's capsule malfunctioned
if my memory serves me right...they explain it more later on in Series II (season 3 & 4)
when they revisit Thundera

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
I seem to recall it being the opening episodes to the final season, they didn't even air it as a movie, they just chopped it up into episodes, called it an "epic story" or something and went from there, though to be honest, i checked out of the show after that and the whole new thundara thing.

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
So... am I the only one watching the new show? ... and completely loving the hell out of it?
Seriously, 8 episodes in, and I completely LOVE this new version, it makes alot more sense then the old one did, and it actually has given the cast purpose and depth, which really, the old show was lacking in, don't get me wrong, the old show was great, but it just wasn't that good at defining any real depth to characters.
I love how this new one has changed everything up, giving the whole cast purpose, Lion-O the young prince forced to take the crown of king and wield the weapon of a conqueror, even though he feels he isn't ready for the job. Tygra the elder brother to Lion-O who secretly wishes it was him leading whats left of their race toward its destiny, but knowing his place is at the side of his brother. Cheetara, the reasons furries exist, as well as the most powerful student of the high priest Jaga, as well as the last of the royal clerics, protectors of the royal family and the secrets of the book of omens. Panthro, the wise old warrior who has learned that the ways of technology is just as important as the way of battle, I love how he doesn't truly believe in Lion-O yet as a leader, having delt with Groon's betrayal and having served Lion-O and Tygra's father Claudus long before the fall of Thundara. And I love that Wiley Kat and Wiley Kit are homeless strays who actually have a use this time out instead of just the token children's narative characters. And ofcourse, the true star of the show is the one its really always been, Snarf, who I have to say, I love the redesign of, with him being more like a pikachu to Lion-O's Ash Katchum, instead of an annoying, nagging.. whatever he was. I also love how Jaga stayed around for awhile, instead of being "that wise thundercat that died" Jaga actually had a purpose and was no slouch when it came to the asskickery. And well, Mum-Ra is just kick ass, even if he doesn't have Ma-Mutt anymore, he doesn't need him, he's got a kick ass Mum-Ra car thats made of epic win, and his new transformed form is amazing!!
I also have to say they're doing well with the lesser characters as well, it was smart only using Slythe instead of Slythe and his mutant followers, I always hated Jackalman, Monkian Ratar-O and VultureMan, they were so lazily created and half assed, worse then He-Man villains lol. I also love that they're going out of their way to create new characters who are interesting and deep in their own ways, even if they only appear once like those little plant creatures from what could turnout to be the best episode of the first season, or the drifter and the swordsman, and the fish in the sea of sand, just so many great characters they've done so far.
Also, the cameos by The Tigersharks as well as Silverhawks villain MonStar was awesome!

Re: Thundercats - Ho!
Oh most definitely you gotta, its so much better then the original was! and they worked in so much stuff, cameos by other characters in the same family, like the tigersharks and MonStar, word is they'll see the Silverhawks at some point for a cameo. They gave Lynx-O, Pumyra and BenGali cameos in the pilot, Lion-O and Tygra's dad is voiced by the guy that originally voiced Lion-O when you see him in flashbacks, its almost as much fanwank as Transformers Animated had, hell they even toss in Dragonballs, yes, in one scene, Snarf is snarfing about and is eating a fruit that looks like dragonballs.
But if you haven't wiki'd it here's the basic plot of the new show..
Thundara is the kingdom of The Thundercats on the planet of Third Earth, they are the most powerful nation on the planet, as a culture they all live with in the walls of Thundara and farm and mine and industrialize there happily, they have long lived by the belief that there is no such thing as technology, when General Grune returns from a long searching mission, you discover he's not only discovered there is technology out there, and that he knows how to use it, but he has turned on them, betraying the thundercats to the lizards who have advanced tech, and to their leader, the once believed a myth, Mum-Ra, who reveals himself at the hight of the battle for Thundara, proclaiming the kingdom has fallen as he kills Lion-O and Tygra's father King Claudius and then takes the head off the royal castle (Cat's Lair from the old show). From there, Jaga, Cheetara Tyrga, Snarf and Lion-O escape into the deepest parts of the castle's underbelly and hide, Jaga magically bonds Lion-O to the Sword of Omens and then turns to hold the invaders off so they can get away. The next day they return, bury Claudius, and decide they must go find the book of omens, which tells them how to beat Mum-Ra and bring back their kingdom, as they leave the destroyed Thundara they find homeless theives Wiley Kat and Wiley Kit, who follow them even though Lion-O says no. they get out in the world and eventually discover Panthro, who was sentout with Grune many years ago, but was betrayed, Panthro has adapted tech nicely and even has the thundertank. From there the show goes in amny different directions and they all are pretty awesome and amazing and unique.
Seriously you gotta check it out, its amazing.

See, 150 seems abit to much for such a thing to me, that thing can't be worth more then like 60 mint in box i'd think, its not a must have really, just one of those things where its like "what the hell, everyone but me found one!" ... and I do believe I did have the original sword of omens, but I'm about 90% sure it wasn't packed properly and got bent in half in the move back from Canada.
