now i am sepaking of the current series ... although if anyone has seen the original please feel free to discuss as it is nice to compare to the remake
personaly i love it ^^ . i do remember the old bbc series that aired here in the US on PBS (Public Broadcast Station)
now it took me a bit to get use to the changing of "The Doctor"
from series I to series II, i kno that's how its supposed to work in the orig series, and in the comics (yes he had his own comic and apeared regularly with in the pages of Death's Head and .. *gasps* Transformers
)
.. but on television with different actors .. its an adjustment

Re: Doctor Who
I grew up watching the old series, I am one of the biggest Who fans you'll ever meet, seriously, I have a lifesize K-9 and a lifesize TARDIS both I won on ebay years ago.
I love the new series, though, I miss Rose, the girl they're going to start airing the new season with, Martha, she's really kind of whiny and gets on my nerves really bad as the series goes on, I just watched the last one of the series Sci Fi started running last night and though its pretty awesome, Martha just bugs me... alot.
I won't spoil this series for those that ain't been downloading it, but I'll tell ya, its atleast worth a watch, some episodes are kinda iffy, some are awesome, "Only Human" and its follow up "The Family Blood" would have been an awesome season ender, plus, you finally get confermation that the FOX movie version of Who is offically part of the history now.

Re: Doctor Who
1996, FOX made a movie but passed on making an american version of the series. We weren't really sure if though the last Doctor from the series (Slyvester McCoy) did a cameo only to die and regenerate, but we weren't sure if the one he became (Paul McCann i think his name is) was seen as an offical one because it wasn't BBC made and such. But its confermed in a drawing in the episode "The Family Blood" (it'll be airing next month in the states) where The Doctor drew pictures of former incarnations and former companions and villains.

haha... they jump from running from the queen (its never explained), to the depression, thats not a skip, thats just where they end up next, I didn't really like the Dalek's in Manhatten storyline, the whole idea of the Daleks becoming bipedal again just seems like a downgrade to me... you're heading up to the best part of the season, you gotta get through the Daleks, then The Lazarus Experiment, then its 42 if i recall, and from there its just straight out awesome, "Only Human" and its follow up "The Family Blood" then "Blink" and onward to the season finale!
End of the season is pretty good... won't say who he's fighting but its one of the BEST who villians ever, it even goes abit into their history...

... ya never answered my question ... how does he regenerate and keep the same form if he dies in the Dalek in Manhattan eps ??
and yes .. i agree, daleks becoming "bipedels" isa downgrade ... exterminate .. exterminate ... exterminate .. LOL

Well with Part One of The Family Blood airing tonight, and the second part, airing next week, you're offically in the home streach for series three, and if you think the incredibly awesome ending to this two parter was great, trust me it gets WAY better. I won't spoil it..
i will say this though, once series three runs its course here, I'm gonna bomb this thread with news about series 4, I'm talking HUGE news, massive name guest stars, two of which will be two VERY well known names in hollywood playing two VERY well known and important villians from the old version of the show and one guest team up that you gotta see to believe, and well, come cast changes too...
So get ready to get your TARDIS rocked.

Re: Doctor Who
I'll break down the picture for you with the actual pictures over the drawings. No idea where JD found this but its the best way to show newer fans whats up and why the scene with the book freaked out so many of us older fans...

From the left top across; Sylvester McCoy (7th Doctor), Paul McCann (8th Doctor and one from the US version), William Hartnel (the very first Doctor), bottom row; Collin Baker (6th Doctor) and Peter Davidson (5th Doctor), there were also pictures in the book of Chris Eccleson (9th Doctor) , John Pertwee (3rd Doctor) and Tom Baker (4th and most recognized Doctor).
I can't find pictures on the net, but here is the rest of what you see in the book scene from my freezing the copy i have of the episode on my PC
Former Villians that were shown included the original and new versions of The Cybermen, The Racnoss, Devross (creator of the Daleks), The Daleks, The Rani, and The Master, and I believe afew of the lower lesser known ones too.
Former companions shown included Rose (*sigh i miss her ever so), Leela, Romana, Teagan, that ER doctor woman from the movie who's name I can't recall, the young version of Sarah Jane and the older version he meets later on with Rose, and I believe K-9 is shown when they show the TARDIS as well.
So, you can see abit now why the older fans are freaking out eh? It was kind of a complete homage to the history of the show...
also, how do you do spoiler tags here? I'm not sure what the wiki says and what it doesn't but I figure i'll post away once I figure how that works.
