Photoshop cs2
Otherwise known as Photoshop 9, this is currently THE flagship of digital image manipulation.
I have to say, it is a beautiful program. I strongly suggest you obtain it (whatever methods are available to you).
Now, visit these ones:
http://www.photoshoptechniques.com
http://www.photoshopcafe.com
now these are pretty much all the photoshop resources you wil need. Just read THOROUGHLY through the literature and you'll be set!
Alternately, ask me!

Re: Photoshop cs2
I used to work with Photoshop.
If yer lookin' for a gud DTP process, I advice ya CorelDRAW, there's more resources than in Photoshop, ya can even make 3D draws!
Truth is comparing with Corel, Photoshop is quite limited.

Re: Photoshop cs2
I'll be sure to keep my optics active for Corel.
But, for the sake of debate, how can you say that Photoshop is limited? Photoshop is limited only as much as it's user's knowledge of the product.
Conclusion: Learn more!
You can achieve three-dimensional stuff using a combination of displacement maps and High Pass sharpening, along with ye olde drop shadow

Re: Photoshop cs2
I'm kind of a Photoshop CS2 user myself. But I think I might have to check out Corel. It sounds interesting.
